Nitty-gritty Rules and Legal BS

Each month, at the whim of Micro-business Fanatic, LLC (“MBF”), a Featured Business (“Featured Biz”) will be chosen. The Featured Biz may be an entirely new business or a project being launched by an already-existing business.
The month kicks off with a written blog and a video blog interviewing the owner/founder of the Featured Biz (the “MBizzer”) describing the project and the MBizzer. Jayson's biases will be liberally sprinkled throughout the video blog and pretty much everything else.
After the video blog interview is published, members of the MBF Community can post forum responses, comments, videos, etc. sounding off on the Featured Biz and its chances of success.
MBF Community members can post THE BIG $ DAY: a guess as to the date by which the Featured Biz will clear $10,000 in profits. Or, if the member thinks the biz will be an EPIC FAIL, he/she/it may predict that the business won't hit $10,000 before six months have passed. If you're not an MBF Community member, you're basically screwed. (It's FREE to sign up, for hell's sake.) Approximately, one month after the release of the first video blog, all guesses will be locked in and you won't be able to futz with them after that (“Lock In”).
MBF Community members can also earn points by guessing against the Board of Big Brains. These are smart, business-savvy guys and gals who'll offer predictions as to how the Featured Biz is going to do. Players can agree or disagree with them. If they're right, they get 100 points per right guess.
Finally, MBF Community members can earn points AND a separate spot on the Micro-palooza trip (same deal as above) by becoming the Primo Promoter. You win that honor by referring the most active players to the game in the previous six months. Check out the Share Page for details on how to share and track your referrals.

The dates of the Lock In and the six month EPIC FAIL date will be announced by Jayson at the same time as the first video blog.
Mbizzers will not have access to the guesses of the MBF Community and Community members are prohibited from sharing their guesses with the MBizzer, his/her employees or associates. In other words, we'll do what we can to make sure nobody cheats.
Each MBF community member will be allowed ONE guess per Showdown. IP Addresses will be monitored to prevent multiple guesses from the same MBF Community Member. Any member with more than one member account will be disqualified from receiving prizes. Please, don't even try to cheat 'cause we're cheaters-at-heart and we know all the tricks.
BizWiz Prize categories will be announced together with the release of the first video blog for each Showdown and will be up-to-Jayson. Random-Acts-of-Coolness will be at the sole discretion of His Royal Bigwigness Jayson Orvis.
Total points awarded will be displayed in each MBF Community Member profile and the top twenty will be posted on a public “Leaders Board.” All MBF Community Members give permission for their point status to be published. So, if you're a wanted felon or the IRS is going to track you down because you played our game, you should probably think about what'll happen if you win.
Every 90 days from the start of the game, two winners of the Ultimate Prize will be chosen: the Grand Guesser and the Primo Promoter. The Grand Guesser is the person with the highest total score. The Primo Promoter is the person with the highest number of active referrals to the game in the previous six months.
The Ultimate Prize is a one-person trip to Lana'i, Hawaii to join Jayson Orvis and others for the Micro-palooza party/scuba adventure/hang out/high-power business hodown. Ultimate Prize includes airfare from anywhere in the United States or Canada to Honolulu, Hawaii, airfare from Honolulu to Lanai, and room and board in a bed and breakfast or other accommodations that we pick. We probably won't stick you in a grass hut, so don't sweat it. We generally go with a bed and breakfast. Most transportation on the island will be provided by MBF as well as some food. Micro-palooza is a six night, seven day extravaganza including informal micro-business chat, island activities and other events to be organized by MBF. Micro-palooza will be scheduled either annually or semi-annually. The attendance of Jayson Orvis is likely, but not guaranteed. (He could get hit by a truck or catch the bubonic plague.) Winners of the Ultimate Prize will be required to sign acceptance of risk, waivers of liability and model releases in order for MBF to pimp out your lovely mug and all the cool stuff you say. Participants may be filmed, photographed and discussed in written works and must provide permission to MBF and Jayson Orvis for such.
All MBF Community Members give permission for the use of comments, video, likenesses and any other material or intellectual property provided by the member via the forums and blogs at the sole discretion of MBF. Again, we may want to take all the credit for cool stuff that you say or do. THANKS!
Notice of all awards will be sent ONLY via contact information provided in the MBF Member Account page. The MBF Member is solely responsible for making certain that contact information is accurate and checked frequently. Prizes unclaimed after fifteen days will become the property of MBF. So, check your friggin email. You may be a winner.
Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner. Ya know: "death and taxes" and all that.
